Lily used her potty!

We have had Lily's little pink potty for a couple of months now, and it been sat on for several occasions when she says that she needs to "pee-pee" but never has there been any successful attempts.

My mom, who keeps Lily on Monday and Tuesday, bought a potty for Lily for her house, and on Monday morning, I got a call! Lily had "pee-peed" in the potty! She said that Lily got up from her nap and not being wet, she asked her if she needed to go. She said that Lily was so excited about actually doing something in her potty! When mama called, I was both happy and sad. I missed her first potty experience, but my mama got a pic, still not the same..but I suppose there are things I am going to miss regardless of how hard I try.

This morning when Lily woke up, we asked her if she needed to use the potty and we had another successful potty experience! I took my own pics and was so excited as was Lily. I will post one below.

( She wouldn't hear of me taking the pic without her paci.")
I don't think she's exactly sure yet when she has to potty or when she gets the urge so we aren't doing any heavy potting training quite yet, but I think eventually she should get the hang of when she needs to go and it shouldn't be long before my baby is not wearing diapers anymore :(

Below are some pics I had made at Sear's over the weekend. She did really good until she decided to want to play with all of the props instead of posing with them. She thought she was in a new toy heaven, so things got a bit challenging but not too bad!

First trip to the beach for the summer...

We went to the beach for our first trip this summer last Saturday. Our weekends have been so busy that we finally made time go to.

Despite the rain in the forecast, we ventured there, and Lily loved it!

Her first sign of excitement on the way was seeing the "big, big boats" as she calls them. Every time she would see a boat, she would yell "big boat" whether the boat was big or not. She has been fascinated with boats since we went on the boat ride a couple of weeks ago.

Once we got to the beach and as we were unpacking, Lily immediately grabbed her sand bucket and shovel and went to a small area of sand in the parking lot. I had to convince that we were't completely at the beach yet.

We stayed on the beach for about an hour and a half, which is about Lily's max for right now. She had a great time playing in the waves and especially the sand. We left the beach right in time before the thunderstorms and went shopping for the rest of the afternoon.

Here are pictures from the beach:

Here, she is about to drop her Daddy's cell phone in the sand. It survived after the fall.

(Quick note: We also had a good father's day. Lily gave her daddy presents and Bj and I both got to see our dads, and go to church, so it was a good day.)

My updated kitchen..finally pics..

I will start with the bad. Below is our kitchen when we first purchased our house. 4 1/2 years ago. It was very outdated. The first thing to go was the ceiling fan and the yellow sink that would have lasted forever..

Next, this is a picture of our kitchen last week before the new countertops and the red walls. We had moved everything to get ready for the changes. I didn't realize it was so uninviting until we got it empty and compared it to our new one. I had tons of things on the countertops hiding them so it's definitely a change now. We also removed the rounded shelf at the end of the bar. Here is our new kitchen. We are very excited about it. I still plan to change a few things like removing the plant from the window and getting a couple of other decorative accessories. Eventually we would love new flooring, but what we have now is not in bad shape.

We would also like a new chandelier over our table, possibly something black. I also have to get window treatments for the window in the dining room not shown in this picture, a rug for the kitchen sink area, and I think we might be complete. Let me know what you think!

Enjoying the summer..

I changed up my page design, if you cannot tell, haha..but I thought it needed something different.

I haven't posted in a while. We have been really busy working in our house, or mostly I have been watching everything take place. We got our new countertops and are currently painting the walls "Red Caboose" in our kitchen and dining room.

I should have pics of our new kitchen and dining room in the next couple of days.

Lily is doing good. We stayed busy over the weekend, and went to her friend Makayla's 3rd birthday party. Lily had the best time playing in the Dora jump and looking at all of Makayla's Dora decorations.

Speaking of birthdays, I have realized it is less than 6 months until Lily's 2nd Birthday. Besides being very sad that my little girl is growing up so fast, I need to get started planning..Share your party ideas and favorite themes..

Here is a picture that I took of Lily saying cheese. I thought it was too cute not to post.

Two blogs in one day, but yesterday was worthy of a blog

I added pictures of our house and yard in the previous blog a lil earlier, but I had so many pictures from this past weekend that I couldn't resist posting those, too.

We had a really good day yesterday. Our church had homecoming, so we enjoyed church and lunch there afterwards. We went home and BJ's family came over to our house to swim in our little pool. (His sister, her husband, her 2 kids, his mom, and his other sister) Only the kids and their parents swam with BJ and Lily, but we made snowcones and had a good time.

After everyone left, we left, too, and we went to a local lake near our house. Lily went on her first boat ride with her daddy, myself, and her maw-maw and pop. She loved her Pop's boat and especially loved it when we went fast. After riding the boat, we let her dip her feet in the water. I wasn't too excited about the dirty water, but she loved it!

Here are pics of Lily on the boat and playing in the water....

We had the best time!!

Some pictures of my house

This is the picture that inspired us to go with our theme in our kitchen. Our current walls are light green, so we will definitely be changing those once we get our countertops installed.

Here is a picture of our house. It is an older house built over 35 years ago, but remodeled a couple of times. I really enjoy living here even though we have the troubles of an older house. We do plan to build one day in the future, but it will still be a few years. That's why we are fixing up our house though to add value to it.
Here is a side view. We have worked really hard on our flower beds throughout our yard.
This is our newest addition. We still have to plant flowers under the bird bath. This area of our yard is a small courtyard behind our house. We finally decided to make it a flower bed and use it as a courtyard eventually with stepping stones and possibly a couple of chairs.
This is our deck. It really needs to be stained again. BJ and I actually built this ourselves during a week of vacation from work. We have always been proud of it because we did it with no help. The sad part is it gets really sunny here in the afternoon so we aren't able to sit on it as much as we would like. We plan to add a roof to it one day soon.
This is a view of part of our backyard. Those are our neighbors' ponds in the back of the picture but they are very good about letting us fish and not at worried about boundaries or land lines.
