A Saturday in paradise..

We took Lily to her first waterpark on Saturday. It's called Grand Paradise Water Park. It is a smaller water park but we had lots of fun and got even more sun!

It has a large children's play area and a kiddie pool area, so she enjoyed swimming around. My favorite was the LaZy River. It was so relaxing to float around on an intertube and enjoy yourself.

Here are a few pics. I didn't get tons because there was so much water involved. I didn't want to ruin my camera.

Enjoy!

A Journey

We weren't really looking (well, maybe I wasn't.), but my husband found a good deal on a new SUV this week.

So we traded in our Chevy Equinox for a new 2009 Dodge Journey. It is really nice and rides a lot smoother than our old one. Our older one was starting to have annoying problems so it was time for a change.

Before my hubby ever brought the Journey home for me to preview, I have never saw one, so it was new to me. Let me introduce it to you in case you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Here it is..this picture is very similar to ours. Our is black like this. Our two glasses are tinted is the only difference.

A view from the back..
It has all kinds of "toys" and neat features that I really enjoy. My theory on a car is it's nice to have all of the fun things inside rather than so many nice things on the outside because I am riding in the car rather than looking at it and would rather enjoy the inside.

We have Sirius radio (free for one year.) It is really nice and we are enjoying all of the channels. The car has also a hard drive in the radio that we can store songs, videos, and pictures on. I haven't figured this out completely yet, but there is sure to be a pic of Lily on there soon.

We also have a dual DVD system. While not driving, you can watch a movie up front and there is one in the backset for Lily that plays all of the time.

Here is what Lily is going to enjoy.

This is something I would never look for in a car, but it came in ours, so hey, it's pretty neat.

It's a Chillzone. (A cooler in our front dash that holds can drinks and keeps them cold.) Wow!

We also have lots and lots of storage. The front passenger seat opens under it for storage and in each back floor board, we have insulated boxes or coolers. They are great for storing ice and drinks or whatever you would like to keep hot or cold.

All of the seats but the front driver's seat also lay down so you have lots of hauling room if you need to carry something large. One other neat thing is on the left in the very back, there is a rechargeable flashlight that stays charged there in case of emergencies. Wow, Dodge has impressed me.
I hope and pray that this vehicle gives us good service and lots of great family memories, cause I will try to hang on to it until my hubby gets ready to go shopping again, hopefully not for several years.

Not Me! Monday

It's back to work today after a fun weekend. I thought I could sum up the weekend by doing a Not Me! Monday post. This blog carnival was MckMama's idea of how we can not tell all of the things we done in the past week that we are outrageous and that we would never do. Head over to her blog to check out other blogs who also posted a Not Me! Monday. (Continue to pray for her Baby Stellan who is still battling serious heart issues.)

For starters, Lily did not have her first sleepover at our house Friday night! She is just a baby and is much too young for sleepovers, haha! Guess you see below she did not have company in her room that insisted on making a pallet on the floor in her room and watching "Alvin and the Chipmunks" until they passed out. Lily would also never sleep right beside her cousins Hunter and Erin all alone since she has never (for real) spent a night without being in the bed with her mommy and daddy! Feeling sad that my baby is growing up would never cause me to sleep in Lily's bed right beside the kids to make sure that she is ok through the night. Ha! I would not ever do that. Our master bedroom is right across the hall.

After a successful sleepover, lots of playing outside, and swimming, I did not manage to talk my wonderful husband into taking us shopping. :) Look at these cute pics of Lily before we left on our shopping trip.

We had a great time since it had been over a month since I had been shopping anywhere out of town.

It was even better when we got our ticket at Chili's and our waitress didn't charge for our drinks, we did not pay quickly and hightail it out of there as fast as we could before she realized her mistake. That would be so dishonest. (We did leave her a generous tip in exchange though.)

Later that night, my sister in law and I did not try on tons of swimsuits never finding just the perfect one and then in anger, leave all of them in the dressing room. This is something I would never do. My conscience really bothers me about leaving stuff in dressing rooms for poor workers to have to put up. (Dear God & Sears employee, forgive me!)

I did not shop until the P.A. system in the mall announced that the mall was closing and all shoppers need to take their purchases to the checkout..

Whew! All of that shopping wore all of us out. I definitely did not let Lily sleep in her shirt that she wore all day shopping instead of her pj's because I did not want to wake her since she fell asleep in the car on the way home.

On Sunday, we did not get Lily to pose in her swimsuit for even more cute, cute pics. She does this when we say "Model, Lily!"

Have a great week, everyone!

Lily's First Camping Trip - We survived!

We survived! We had our first night of camping in tents with Lily on Friday night and it went pretty good.

We got there around 6 pm and set up camp. Below is a picture of our "dining area." We had two large tents and 5 adults, 2 teenagers, 4 kids under 4, and a poodle.

We grilled hotdogs and spent the evening watching the kids play and roast marshmallows. Around 9:30, Lily got so sleepy but she fought sleep until after 12. This was the only tough time. She was so tired, but was so afraid she was going to miss something. After we finally got her to sleep,, she slept until 7:15 am. Here is Erin and Lily enjoying their hot dogs.

I love this pic! Erin, Hunter, and Lily were laughing about something.

This picture is funny, too. I am not sure what Lily and Hunter were up, but Lily has her flashlight ready.

This was Saturday morning while we were getting ready to ride the boat and the tube.

This is me, Hunter, and Lily riding the giant tube behind the boat. Lily and I both experienced a first at the same time because I had never done this either! We both had lots of fun!

At the end of our ride...notice these pics in black and white, not sure how my camera settings got changed, but almost all of our pictures from the boat ride, are in black and white. lol..

Another plus to our trip was that the weather was really cool! I almost froze Friday night, but it kept the mosqitoes away so we were able to enjoy the nice night with no annoying bug bites!

Happy Camping to all!

a whole week..

I looked at my blog today as things settle down here at work and realized that I have not written a single blog in a whole week.

How terrible! We have been extra busy at work this week. The bank that I work for celebrated its 75th anniversary yesterday and being in the Marketing Department. Let me put it nicely that we were on top of things, lol..extra busy.

Looking forward to the weekend, tonight we have something new and exciting planned - Lily's first camping experience. We plan to stay at a local campsite in a tent. My sister in law, her husband, and three kids, and my mother in law are all coming. We are only staying one night, but it should be an interesting trial run to see how well the kids do. It's also cooler here today so the weather should be perfect and hopefully not many mosquitoes. Speaking of mosquitoes, they have been terrible here this year. Have they been so bad for everyone else? I despise them and definitely try to protect Lily, but it's been hard when she goes outside for 5 minutes and comes back inside with 5 bites.

I should have lots of fun pics from the weekend and I leave you with a couple of cute pics of Lily swimming in her pool last weekend..
